He was onboard HMS Valient for the mutiny at Invergordon in 1931 & was part of the crew of the Submarine HMS Seal when the crew was captured laying mines off the coast of Norway in April 1940.He dug a tunnel in an attempt to escape from Marlag P.O.W Camp & is recorded in the P.O.W roll as P.O.W number 5306 at Stalag 20A at Thorn Poogors in Poland.

David Mustarde junior was born in Dundee 18-5-1904 & served as a Chief Engineer with the Merchant Navy during WW2 & continued to serve until he finally took his discharge in 1960. (HMS CARADOC on the LS&GC)
